More cards coming out of PAX East and the angels keep getting better and better:
I meant what I said in my opening line up-top. Is it just me or is Avacyn the weakest of the 3 spoiled angels so far? The first two seem very playable and Avacyn might see play... if it can the find the right reanimator deck to fit into.
Anyway, back to the Restoration Angel. This thing is insane. Four mana for a 3/4 flier with flash would already be a top limited common. But slap a Flicker type effect on top of her and she becomes instant utility for a number of different archetypes. She's quick, she's splashable, and she helps a deck do more of what it already does. Snapcasters, titans, and huntmasters now all have protection from removal and additional triggered abilities.
It's funny that the angel would be spoiled at this time, now that I'm in the middle of putting together my first Cube (The Mighty Morphin' Cube). She does exactly what my Cube wants to do and she's going to be a perfect fit. Not only does she save your own creatures from removal on top of her own combat tricks, but she can also cheap morphed creatures into play. I'm definitely making room for her in the Cube.
