Here on the first day of the Dark Ascension preview week, the surprises keep on coming. Coincidentally, this next card tailor made for a new deck idea that I've been throwing around:
A new tribal lord is always a welcome addition. As a rare, this is sure to get play in Innistrad/Dark Ascension drafts. I'll even go as far as to say that this is on par with Bloodline keeper because it looks so good. Tap to create tokens with a chance to buff, in addition to all the other human buffs (that the vampire tribe lacks). This card is going to be insane. In Legacy, it's hard to say. I've never made a human tribal deck and it's hard for me to judge it against the existing human lords. It'll be interesting.
For the past couple weeks a new deck idea has been floating around my head that features Avatar of Hope, Death's Shadow, and Second Chance. The deck is based around dropping your own life total down with cards like Sylvan Library, Dismember, and Pain Lands. This new Fateful Hour mechanic is going to blow this deck wide open. I can't wait until the entire set is revealed. As far as Innistrad Constructed goes, it looks like the Mayor of Avabruck has a new friend in bringing the beats of the Human Tribe.
