Any mana acceleration of any form is always welcome and Scorned Villager / Moonscarred Werewolf is no exception. This next card comes courtesy of Svenska Magic:
The first thing that popped into my head was Werebear, of all things. The second thing is a reminder of how much I wish Wizards really exploited the synergy between creatures with vigilance and tapping abilities. Much like first strike and deathtouch, the two abilities together make the creature exponentially better. I hope they take a long hard look at matching up pairs of abilities and making that one of the focuses of a future set. That would be great.
(I also approve of the not-so-subtle homage to Little Red Riding Hood.)
As far as I'm concerned, you have to go the werewolf route if you're looking to use the villagers in your deck. The difference between a 1cc accelerator and 2cc accelerator is actually a huge, huge deal. If you're looking to run and 2cc accelerator, you better have a pretty damn good reason. Therefore, toss a set of these girls into your existing werewolf deck and have some fun.
