Sacrifice a creature: Falkenrath Torturer gains flying until end of turn. If the sacrificed creature was a human, put a +1/+1 counter on Falkenrath Torturer.
It's a common vampire, so we can't expect too much and yet for a common I think it's pretty good. If you play a black/white and play the Falkenrath Torturer on turn 3, you can potentially attack with a 3/2 flier on turn 4.
I've said this before, but I'll say this again: I'm a fan of open ended design and I think the designers of Innistrad & Dark Ascension really understand how to design cards just the way I like them. For example, the first portion of text could have easily read, "Sacrifice a human..." It would have been completely fine and no one would have complained. Instead, the torturer is now a sacrifice outlet for all types of creatures while maintaining "sacrificial humans" as flavor.
If this card were printed a decade ago, I don't think they would taken my tastes in card design into account.
(No, you're narcissistic.)
Black/white is the way to go for a human/vampire deck and what better human to include other than my favorite sacrificial human: Doomed Traveler.
Other than that, because there are so many ways to instantly sacrifice creatures, I think you have to consider cards like Fiend Hunter to set up some tricks with the stack.
Unfortunately, while these types of human/vampire decks lend themselves to being white & black, I don't think they'll be played outside of limited and casual. I still think Black/White Tokens are just so strong that there won't be any reason to play any other white & black decks.
