New Card - Curse of Thirst

The curses are back...! Although, I still wish Witchbane Orb never existed.

First Impressions

I've come to despise the Witchbane Orb from a casual deck construction point of view. I just think that card is of bad design when it's so thoroughly and completely destroys all effectiveness of all curses... forever. Yes, it's possible to include curses in your main deck while swapping them out with your side-board 100% of the time for games 2 and 3. It still just feels a little dirty. I like curses flavor-wise, I just can't help but be reminded of how ineffective they really are.

Deck Ideas

This is one of those cards is just screaming "build me!" while it nudges you towards the other curses. There's nothing really to see here and not much to build around. To build the Curse Deck, you need to do the following:
  • Step 1: Get a lot of curses.
  • Step 2: Play a lot of curses.
  • Step 3: Hope to draw a counter or discard spell to protect your curses.
  • Step 4: Hope they don't play a Witchbane Orb.
Maybe I'm being too down on the curses. After all, you could always build the deck around Meddling Mage, Nevermore, or even something like Jester's Hat to try to actively hate out the orbs. But I'm not too sure about that.
